images.jpgThe Des Moines Sertoma Club is delighted to team up with the Iowa Cubs to sponsor our annual Fantasy Baseball Camp for deaf and hearing-impaired youth. The camp runs from July 16th through July 20 at Colby Park in Windsor Heights.

Local coaches and members of the Iowa Cubs will teach baseball skills and play with the kids. The kids will get to play on the grass at Principal Park, home of the I-Cubs, and they will sign the national at the at the July 19th Iowa Cubs game, which is also Sertoma Night at the Ball Park. There are still camp spaces available; contact Pat Taylor, (515)-224-6408, if you are interested.

trich.jpgOur speaker schedule is abbreviated this month on account of the baseball camp, but we make up in quality what we give up in quantity. John McLaughlin, the KCCI meteorogist, is the July 10th speaker. Blank Park Zoo CEO Terry Rich visits us July 24th with "the Scoop on Poop." Don't worry, that's after lunch.

The Sertoma month finishes with our annual golf outing and barbecue at the Noyce compound on Lake Panorama.

Join Sertoma today and don't miss another month of fun and SERvice TO MAnkind!
